CORFU

Corfu, one of Greece’s most captivating islands, is a place where lush green landscapes meet the deep blue of the Ionian Sea. Rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, the island offers an unforgettable experience for travelers who love to explore on foot. From its Venetian-influenced old towns to its olive-covered hills and sparkling beaches, Corfu enchants visitors with a blend of Mediterranean warmth and timeless charm. The island’s beauty unfolds best at a walking pace — through narrow cobbled lanes, along coastal paths, and across scenic mountain trails that reveal breathtaking views at every turn.

The UNESCO-listed Corfu Town is the perfect place to begin your journey. Its maze of pastel-colored buildings, elegant arcades, and shaded squares invites leisurely exploration. Walking through the Old Fortress, the Liston Promenade, or the lively Spianada Square gives a taste of the island’s layered history — a mix of Greek, Venetian, French, and British influences. The aromas of fresh coffee, sea air, and blooming bougainvillea fill the streets, while local tavernas serve delicious Corfiot specialties like pastitsada and sofrito, perfect for a well-earned break.

For hikers and nature lovers, Corfu offers some of the most stunning walking routes in the Ionian Islands. The Corfu Trail, a long-distance path that runs the length of the island, leads through olive groves, cypress forests, traditional mountain villages, and secluded beaches. Along the way, you’ll find panoramic vistas over the sea and neighboring islands — landscapes that shift from dramatic cliffs to peaceful valleys. Whether you’re meandering through charming coastal towns or trekking across its wild, unspoiled interior, Corfu rewards every visitor with a sense of discovery and serenity. It’s an island that combines culture, nature, and the pure joy of exploration — a true walker’s paradise in the heart of the Mediterranean.
